John Travolta and his children wished his followers a Merry Christmas on Friday, their first holiday season since then. Kelly Preston passed away in July.
In a video posted on Instagram, A “Grease” actor showed kids Ella, 20, and Benjamin, 10, waving and speaking to his fans as they stood in front of a sparkling Christmas tree and lots of gifts.

Travolta, 66, has been open about his personal life this holiday season, thanking others for their support after the deaths of Preston, his wife and the mother of the children, who died in July at the age of 57 after a private battle with breast cancer.

“I just wanted to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in an unbelievable way this year,” he said in a video posted on Instagram last month. “Happy thanks and love always.”
Travolta and Preston met while filming “The Experts” in 1988 and married at a midnight party in Paris in 1991. They had three children: daughter Ella and sons Benjamin and Jet, the latter of whom died at the age of 16 after suffering a seizure. The family was on vacation in the Bahamas in January 2009.
